Determination of site-specific wind and environmental conditions

Accredited services
Determination and evaluation are based on following guidelines and recommendations:
- Site classification (MEASNET: Evaluation of site specific wind conditions, IEC EN 61400-1)
- Testing of structural stability and site suitability (IEC EN 61400-1 bzw. DIBt)
Not every wind turbine is suitable for every location. In order to ensure structural stability, the distances between individual wind turbines must be dimensioned perfectly.
The EWS Consulting Experts …
- measure local wind and environmental conditions with the latest technology using met mast and LiDAR measurements (accredited service)
- determine the wind zone /WTG class
- incorporate the following factors into the assessment of the site: topography, turbulence intensity, extreme winds, wind shear/wind gradient, oblique wind, air density, other environmental conditions
- provide the basis for assessment of site suitability
- check the structural suitability of a wind turbine (integrity of the structure)
- advise on the selection of suitable wind turbines
- have experience in complex Alpine sites and forest sites
