Hybrid power plant - The energy system of the future
The perfect match - Wind & Agri-PV. As is well known, wind energy achieves its peak performance in the winter months. Solar energy from photovoltaic systems is at its peak in the second half of the year. The two CO2-free forms of energy generation thus complement each other splendidly and create a unique and sustainable investment in the future.
But there is even more! Now Agri-PV comes into play.
With our innovative EWS Sonnenfeld, we add another level of land use on top! Not only food is harvested from the field, but also electricity, and without any significant loss of land. Electricity and food from the farm, so to speak.
80% of the land is used for food production, 18% is used as flower strips and increases biodiversity. Only 2 % of the area is used for the turbine infrastructure.
The combination of wind energy and agri-PV has several advantages:
- Maximum increase in yields through triple use of the area
- maximum use of available network capacities and tie-in stations
- cost savings through joint use/procurement of cable infrastructure and grid connection
- increase in grid stability through stabilisation of annual electricity production
- maximum system compatibility for electricity grids and self-consumption systems
- optimised operational management through a higher-level PV and wind farm control system
- rapid and cost-effective implementation with minimal land consumption
"Our goal is to achieve the highest possible land efficiency, which allows us to use valuable land sparingly. This works extremely well with this form of triple land use for wind power, solar power and food production," says Joachim Payr from EWS.
Whether it's an existing wind farm that needs to be updated with solar energy, or the planning of a new hybrid power plant - you and the climate can only win.
We are happy to support you here with our know-how.
