wind directions - groundbreaking energy talks

Renewables and electricity prices - a detailed analysis, 7 Septempber 2023, 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

After one and a half years of energy crisis, we have a high-water mark of electricity prices behind us. How will renewables influence the future price of electricity?

What remains after the energy crisis is an empty wallet, because the expensive fossil fuel power plants at home and abroad, on which we are dependent, are driving up the price of electricity. Currently, only one fifth of the electricity in the European Union is generated from renewable energies. According to our EU targets, electricity generation from renewables should increase to two thirds by 2030. So it is clear: the course for a renewable energy future must be set now. And what will happen to electricity prices?

But how do experts from Europe and Austria see the connection between renewable energies and electricity prices?

  •     What role do renewables play in curbing the enormously high electricity prices high electricity prices?
  •     What would electricity prices look like if there were no electricity generated from renewables
  •     And how do the electricity prices in other European countries countries differ from those in Austria?

These questions will be examined at the European level and from an Austrian
and discussed with renowned national and international experts from the energy sector.
and international experts from the energy sector.
