A "Pegasus" for EWS Sonnenfeld® makes EWS the innovation kaiser

The motto of this year's Upper Austrian business award "Pegasus" was "New Ways". Prizes were awarded to local companies that show "how to be successful even in difficult times through innovative strength and adaptability", according to the organisers.

The best companies in the country were honoured. Around 600 guests were present at the festive evening gala on 1 June in Linz's Brucknerhaus for the announcement of the winners in the categories:

  • The Innovation kaiser
  • The Lighthouses
  • The success stories
  • Special Award of the State of Upper Austria: The Future Hopes

EWS was also represented by Gerhard Steindl and Wolfgang Neuhofer for the category "The Innovation Emperors" with the Agri-PV system "EWS Sonnenfeld®".

This year's jury consisted of Friedrich Schneider (jury chairman), Susanne Dickstein (editor-in-chief of OÖN), Dietmar Mascher (deputy editor-in-chief and head of the business section of OÖN), Helge Löffler (partner at KPMG), Stefan Pierer (president of IV OÖ), Heinrich Schaller (general manager of RLB OÖ), Markus Achleitner (provincial economic councillor), Doris Hummer (president of WKOÖ) and last year's winners.

A place on the podium for an innovative energy conversion solution

With the EWS Sonnenfeld® we were able to achieve third place in the category "The Innovation Kaisers". "The Innovation Kaisers" were awarded for best ideas regarding products, services, processes and market development and for how they succeeded in confronting issues such as pandemics or climate change.

"At EWS, we have been dealing with renewable energies as important environmental protection initiatives for almost 30 years. Today, there is a consensus that the expansion of wind and solar energy is indispensable for the transformation process into a post-fossil era set by the EU. But not only that, it also creates more energy self-sufficiency and security of supply. There is no question that with domestically generated clean energy, we also have electricity pricing in our own hands. A third place at Pegasus confirms what we are doing. We were able to achieve this through the excellent work and innovative strength of our team," says Wolfgang Neuhofer, CEO of EWS Consulting GmbH.
